ZVM v0.9.1 adds named Zig version aliases, streamlined bug reporting, improved documentation, and more reliable Windows packaging.
ZVM v0.9.1 adds named Zig version aliases, streamlined bug reporting, improved
documentation, and more reliable Windows packaging.
Create memorable aliases for installed Zig versions:
zvm alias work 0.14.1
zvm use work
zvm run work build test
Aliases work with install, use, run, and rm. Use zvm alias to list them, zvm alias -d
to delete one, or zvm alias --clear to remove them all.
The new zvm bug command opens a prefilled GitHub issue containing useful diagnostic
information, including your ZVM version, host platform, settings, and installed Zig
versions.
Sensitive paths are shortened and custom URLs are replaced with digests. ZVM only
prepares the report—you can review it before submitting.
For remote or headless environments:
zvm bug --print
ZVM now ships a Claude Code plugin that teaches coding agents how to select, install,
and run the correct Zig toolchain without unexpectedly changing your globally
selected version.
/plugin marketplace add tristanisham/zvm
/plugin install zvm
Added comprehensive man-page sources covering ZVM and its commands.
Expanded documentation for aliases, bug reports, environment variables, and
package-manager builds.
Added automated checks to keep the coding-agent command reference synchronized with
the CLI.

A case of "it works on my machine" struck me in the last release. I've increased the default timeout from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. As with last release, you can set your custom time out per install with --http.timeout or by setting the env: ZVM_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT .
