Terms of Service

PackageTrack is a service that tracks software package releases and tells you how your projects relate to them. These terms keep things clear; by using packagetrack.dev or creating an account, you agree to them.

The service

Public package pages are available to everyone without an account. Accounts add project tracking: you send us a dependency list (through the browser or the CLI) and we show and mail you what changed. The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it accurate and available, but package metadata comes from third-party sources and can be wrong, late, or incomplete. Do not treat it as your only signal for security decisions.

Accounts

You need a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys private. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, or use it to harm others.

Free and paid

The current service is free. Parts of the service that operate on your own projects are planned to become part of a paid plan; public package pages stay free. We will announce pricing before charging anyone, and no existing data is held hostage: you can export or delete your projects at any time.

Your data

What you send us stays yours. Dependency lists you upload are used only to run the service for you. See the Privacy Policy for details on what we store.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, PackageTrack is not liable for damages arising from use of the service, including decisions made based on the information it shows. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for free accounts is zero.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms.
